Image really can’t do much wrong over the last few years.  Sure, not every release is a massive seller, but for share creative force and promotion of material that would struggle to shine anywhere else, Image really have stepped up what Dark Horse started and arguably have beaten the ‘Horse at their own game – not that competition isn’t a bad thing and DH still is a formidable publishing talent.  So on with the slew of new title releases this month from Image.  Check out the full lot here at CBR

BLACK SCIENCE #1 – Want some kick ass sci-fi? (there are a few options this month) but this looks damn tasty) Black Science is/was the last frontier that as it fell allowed the fabric of reality to be challenged.  So what do you do when that happens?  No idea, but the characters appear to be unwittingly thrown into a chaotic voyage of aliens and foreign space where the past  is strange and future unknown.  And like all good yarns, they just want to go home.   Well worth your attention

UMBRAL #1 – If you’v got an appetite for more fantasy related stories, I’d take a look at this.  It’s created by the writer of Dark Space, a very well received console game franchise as well as Wasteland.  In short the creative team are known and respect as world builders for basing great tales in.   To kick things off, a royal family, a murder, and the rise of dark forces… while not maybe the most original premise, the execution will be what people are drawn to this book for.

MANIFEST DESTINY #1 – I quite like the mash-up here of the wild west and horror.  Our heroes set our to explore the new frontier of the new world only to find it is full of more than just beasts known to man.  The writer is the dude behind Being Human so I’d expect this will be well written and worth a look if the genres appeal to you.
