What’s up comic fans?  Well, nice to see that Spring-like weather over the last few days.  Come November, we should be enjoying some balmy days and, of course, you’ll want some good reading for then.  Marvel can line you up some magic with their varied range of titles.  There are some milestone titles to check out as well as some titles that POINT to the start of something big in the Marvel universe over the next 12 months… ominously good stuff!  Also, the changes to the X-titles rolls on with an Uncanny restart.  Lastly, check out the charity piece at the end, it could be a real nice piece in itself and a good way for the comic community to get behind something positive other than just a successful comic to screen event for a change :-).

POINT ONE – No image to go with this yet but…drum roll… this is the start of something big!  To be fair, Marvel has been saying for some months Fear Itself was part of a bigger plan, that big things were afoot and the changes will start here.  Point One is no doubt going to be a tease piece, setting the scene of things to come in 2012 from Marvel.  If you enjoy seeing snippets of a puzzle and putting them together as more information gets revealed, then this is for you.

FANTASTIC FOUR #600 – What can you say, it’s an anniversary issues, and at 600, that’s Marvel’s oldest.  It’s a 96 page festival and to Marvel’s credit they’re not padding it with old reprint stories. This issue will connect to the first and i wonder if it’ll deal with the return of a key FF character, or at least hint at it.

So, if you like having these milestone issues in your collection, this is one to get.

SIX GUNS #1 & #2 – Fancy a bit of western?  Here’s something new with a blazin’ barrel of western themed goodness but in a modern setting.  It’s a tale south of the border, with a bad-ass bikie gang in the villain role.  Good on Marvel for giving some love to the niche areas of their stable with and  whippin’ out a respectful dust off of some old characters; Tarantula, Tex Dawson, Black Rider, Matt Slade and the Two-Gun Kid!  Yee-ha, ride on pardners!

UNCANNY X-MEN #1 & #2 – So this won’t be getting quite the level of attention lavished upon the restart of titles such as Detective Comics and Action Comics, but know this true believer!  This is no small deal itself restarting one of Marvel’s oldest and finest.  This essentially will be the companion title now to Wolverine and the X-Men and deal with the new order of the X-Men universe.  Like I said last month, this sounds like a hell of a ride and I’m going to check it out.  Who’s ‘restart’ will be better executed?  DC or Marvel’s?

KAPOW! GUINNESS WORLD RECORD SPECIAL #1 – Perhaps a comic all comics fans should add to their orders for November (only NZ$7.95).  I’ll say no more than great idea, great cause and great talent, why wouldn’t you?  Here’s the official blurb:
