DC’s focus for June is all about Flashpoint, with the start of numerous tie-in mini-series .  Hmmm, maybe a bit of overkill but if I’m to be fair, DC don’t make them a necessity to understand the core story, rather they enhance it.  So the mantra applies, buy only what you want.

Aside from that, there’s not  heck of a lot else to highlight, lots of good stuff in the regular titles.  There are definitely some interesting new projects coming up later in the year though.

So, these Flashpoint tie-ins.  There are a lot of interesting titles in the mix and some good talent in there, James Robinson, Brian Azzarello, Jeff Lemire, Dan Jurgens writing not just the A list characters but some lesser known or returning ones too.  I’ve highlighted just  few below for various reasons.  Check out the full list of releases here at CBR.

FLASHPOINT: BATMAN – KNIGHT OF VENGEANCE #1 – So, wanna know what going on with Batman/Bruce during Flashpoint?   Brian Azzarello is here to tell us.  Azzarello is no stranger to Batman and writing some good gritty storylines so it’ll be interesting what he brings to this 3 part tie-in.

FLASHPOINT: DEADMAN AND THE FLYING GRAYSONS #1 – Love the retro cover to this one.  From J.T Krul (Blackest Night: Titans, Crossgen titles, Fathom)

FLASHPOINT: PROJECT SUPERMAN #1 – Another awesome cover, very dramatic drawn by the talented Gene Ha.

FLASHPOINT: KID FLASH LOST STARRING BART ALLEN #1 – Pop culture’s second most famous ‘Bart’.  The boy who was Impulse returns but will it last?

THE ABSOLUTE SANDMAN BOOK FIVE HC – Just when you think you’ve spend enough to have all the absolute volumes of Sandman, they say “hey, here’s another!”  Admittedly, this will look pretty decent beside the other four slipcased volumes and complete the expanded Sandman tale with Endless Nights, Dream Hunters and Sandman: Mystery Theatre lying in wait for you between the covers.
